I am so lucky to have had the enormous pleasure of 35 years of owning, showing and working Vizslas, 20+ years of which have been as a Hungarian Wire-Haired Vizsla owner.
I am incredibly proud to be the only UK Hungarian Wire-Haired Vizsla kennel to have bred all the following accolades: UK Show Champion, Best of Breed at Crufts, Championship Best In Show, Top Brood Bitch and a UK Kennel Club Field Trial winner too.
The nature of my work as a gamekeeper requires me to have a number of dogs but individually they all have their own wonderful personality and special qualities. Each dog has an important part to play within in my team, excelling in one way or another.
The dogs work extensively throughout the shooting season on a variety of shoots, from small family days to larger commercial days.
As much as the dogs love their busy work days they are just as happy laying around and getting under my feet in the kitchen, following me around the house, chilling on their beds and being couch potatoes too. They really do enjoy the best of both worlds!
I hope you enjoy browsing our website and meeting the dogs.
Crufts Dog Show 2011. Herlinga Herleva wins historical first Bitch CC to be awarded and Best of Breed
Sh Ch Herlinga Herveus
Harvey excels in both the field and in the show ring. At the first championship show held by the HWVA Harvey was awarded Best In Show by the world renowned judge Frank Kane.
Although not at public stud he has sired some wonderful puppies that have made their presence felt in both the show ring and the field. His daughter Ruby became the youngest Show Champion at the tender age of 17 months. His son Taner has inherited his good looks as well as his wonderful temperament.
Herlinga Hadley
Hadley follows in the footsteps of her older brother Harvey, excelling in both field and show ring. She has won several field trial awards, graded Excellent in Grouse Pointing and added winning the Kennel Club AB HPR Novice Field Trial to her list of achievements. A fabulous mother too.
Fassfields Tan Divo by Herlinga
Taner follows in his parents successful footsteps in the show ring. Many wins at Championship shows and busy in the field too.
With his illustrious parentage of Sh Ch Herlinga Herveus x Fassfields Queen Breha, a Crufts CC winner and his grandmother Saffy was a Crufts Best of Breed winner, Taner has all the best genes!
Herlinga Herleva ShCm
Rosie has had a fantastic show career and worked in the field for Ann her joint owner. She is Harvey’s litter sister and has been equally as successful at Championship shows during her career from a puppy through to Veteran. Her most memorable day was becoming the winner of Best of Breed at Crufts 2011, at the first of the UK shows to offer CC’s for the breed. The Youtube video captures the excitement of the day.
Herlinga Molleva
Radish is everyone’s friend. The most happy wire you could wish for. Whatever is asked of her she will give it her all whether it’s showing, working or her favourite pastime representing the breed at Discover Dogs.
Daughter of field trialling winning parents, she has inherited their working ability and has fabulous good looks too.
Herlinga Hennie
Hennie is the daughter of two field trial winners but she is also a wonderful companion in the home. A loyal and trustworthy worker, always wanting to please.
An excellent hunter happy to work wide open ground or hunt close by too.
Herlinga Helewise
We are extremely proud of Alice and her amazing show career.
She has numerous Championship show awards and been awarded Best In Show at the HWVCGB show. Alice and her owner Tanya Pryer certainly are doing the Herlinga name proud!
Herlinga Heortwode
Woody, a great sociable dog who just loves working with his canine family in the field. Dependable and steady even when there is plentiful game around, a real asset and important member of the working team. Another Herlinga dog that can successfully strut his stuff in the show ring too!
Herlinga Hakon
Wesley, the youngest male in the family whose parents are Taner and Hennie.
Happily learning his craft, and having experienced shoot days and picking up Wesley is showing great promise and I’m sure he will be an excellent addition to my team. So handsome too!
Lanspar Napozik at Janousa
Oscar epitomised the dual purpose HWV, with his great looks, fabulous coat and love of working. Whatever the weather he was always eager to get on with his job and just absolutely loved retrieving. Oscar sired two litters and the progeny from these litters were outstanding, Harvey, Rosie, Esther and Hadley to name just a few. Thankfully his offspring have inherited Oscar’s amazing qualities and they continue to impress everyone just as he did.
